Grants of £1,000 or £2,000 (with the occasional higher award up to £4,000) are available to UK registered charities for the care and improvements of conditions experienced by vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society both within the United Kingdom and overseas for whom the UK owes a duty of care.
The Trust is keen to support small UK registered charities, particularly those that, by the nature of their work, find it difficult to attract funding.
In particular, the Trust likes to fund projects that are hands-on, new and innovative, especially in the following fields:
• Accommodation and housing.
• Community facilities and activities.
• Health and disability.
• Justice and human rights.
• Older people.
• Protection of the environment and wildlife;
• Service and ex-service men and women.
• Social welfare.
• Special schools and special needs education and literacy, and
• Vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals
