Arts, education, medical research and social welfare grants

Revenue grants of variable sizes are available to registered charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations working in the UK and/or overseas in the areas of the arts, education, medical research and social welfare, with an emphasis on the following areas:

•    Education – the Foundation considers applications from universities and other charities to support young professionals in fields including medicine, science and business. It supports disadvantaged young people and apprenticeships.
•    Medical Research – the Foundation supports original research and the continuation of existing research. Welfare is also considered under the medical theme and the priority is to support work well known to the Trustees.
•    The Arts – the Foundation supports the education and outreach work of arts charities and prioritises work which is well known to the Foundation.

In addition, social welfare is supported, especially work known to the trustees.  If charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) work locally, priority is given to those in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.

There are no minimum or maximum grant award levels. Past awards have varied significantly, from under £5,000 to over £200,000.

The Foundation operates 3 application deadlines each year:

Every 30 April for consideration by the end of July.
Every 31 August for consideration by the end of November, and
Every 31 December for consideration by the end of March in the following year.
