The Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity makes grants, generally under £10,000, to UK registered charities, with a preference for supporting charities delivering projects in London and/or Sub-Saharan Africa.
Grants are usually awarded to charities where the grant will make a significant difference and where the Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity can see how the money is being used. Charities applying from outside London are requested to email the charity to check eligibility.
With the sole exception of medical research charities, Peter Stebbings does not ordinarily fund charities with an annual income of more than £5 million,
The Charity’s main areas of interest in the United Kingdom are:
- Medical research and care.
- Mental health/counselling.
- Offender support, and
- Vulnerable families, women and children.
Its main areas of interest in Sub-Saharan Africa (Sub-Saharan Africa, Subsahara, or Non-Mediterranean Africa is the area and regions of the continent of Africa that lie south of the Sahara), are:
- Sanitation, irrigation, hygiene and access to clean water. The Charity is particularly interested in low tech, repeatable schemes, involving local communities. Projects in this area should promote health, poverty reduction, access to education, training and agricultural production.
- Women's empowerment. Education and Training. Projects to enhance life chances, reproductive choices, safe childbirth. To improve access for vulnerable groups.
- Microfinance for Women, and the
- Provision of recycled tools and equipment.
