Relief of need, hardship and distress, especially among children

Grants generally of £1,000 for UK registered charities working in the areas of the relief of need, hardship and distress, especially among children, and the provision of financial assistance to deserving students under the age of 25 for educational purposes.

The aims of the Makers of Playing Cards Charity are:

•    The advancement, education, health and wellbeing of people under the age of 25, and
•    The relief of people in need who are members of the Worshipful Makers of Playing Cards Livery Company and their close dependants.

The Charity prefers to support smaller UK registered charities with an annual turnover of less than £300,000.

UK registered charities may apply for a grant.  Grants are normally small, starting at £1,000.

The Charity does not have an application form.  To apply for a grant, registered charities should follow the guidance set out in the Makers of Playing Cards’ website.

Twice a year.  The Trustees meet in May and October annually so deadlines are before this.
