Grants are available to individuals and organisations in the UK to further the music, work and ideals of Gerald Finzi, assisting individuals and organisations and initiating projects which encourage artists and composers to develop their creativity.
The Trust aims to advance its charitable purposes by the following means:
• The financing of public performances of musical works (including operas and concerts).
• The financing and copying or publication of music.
• The financing of the publication of books on music which have educational value.
• The making of grants to music festivals.
• The granting of assistance to musicians and students of music to further their musical education, including the purchase of musical instruments, and the founding of scholarships and prizes for the advancement of education in music
• The commissioning of new musical works by composers and contributing to such commissions, and
• The promotion of the name and work of Gerald Finzi.
The Trust provides grants to musicians below the age of 25 at the time of their application. Eligible candidates must demonstrate commitment, ability and genuine financial need. Please note that financial support is not given for postgraduate study, undergraduate study, subsistence or school fees.
