The Van Neste Foundation One off small grants

One-off grants generally around £12,000 for charitable organisations based and working in Bath, Bristol, Plymouth and Somerset working to support children and young people.

The Van Neste Foundation’s overarching aims are to encourage innovation, self-help and to tackle social injustice.  The Foundation aims to achieve this by offering one-off small grants to registered charities and Community Interest Companies based and working in Bath, Bristol, Plymouth and Somerset – as well as Ghana, Mali, Kenya and Romania – that are working in the following areas:

Social Change - the Foundation want to encourage organisations that seek to change society in a positive way.  It looks to support community organisations trying include those who have become marginalised, either as a group or as individuals.  It seeks to give to those who want to promote a sense of place and environmental improvement whether that be urban or rural.  The Foundation also aims to support those whose work encourages the systemic change necessary to alleviate poverty and make us a more just and less unequal society.

Children and Young People - the Foundation wants to encourage those who will shape the future and help ensure that they reflect the whole of our society.  It also wants to support those whose work ensures that young people feel that society does offer them something. The Foundation recognises the need for all types of activities for young people including Sport, Drama, Music, Food, Travel.

The Developing World - the Foundation expects the majority of its grants to be with in the UK – specifically in Bath, Bristol, Plymouth and Somerset - but is also wants to support charities working in the developing world where their objectives coincide with their focus on Social Change and Children and Young People.

Applications – which may be made at any time via the application form available on the Foundation’s website - are reviewed every 4 months, in January, June and October.
