Grants, generally for up to £5,000, are available to registered charities in England for the delivery of projects and activities that can make a strong and positive contribution to local communities in which Womble Bond Dickinson has a presence.
Womble Bond Dickinson LLP is an international law firm with offices across the United Kingdom and the United States. Its Charitable Foundation awards one-off grants of up to £5,000 (with the occasional higher award) to registered charities across the United Kingdom, with a preference for funding charities in which Womble Bond Dickinson LLP has a presence, namely:
- Bristol
- Leeds
- London
- Newcastle
- Plymouth
- Southampton, and
- Teeside
The company also has an office in Edinburgh, but this does not appear to be included in the geographic areas the Foundation prioritises for grant support.
The Foundation’s current priorities are:
- To unlock potential and make a positive difference, particularly in the communities in which the partners and employees of Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP live and work. Charitable donations are focused on improving social inclusion, making a positive impact on individuals, especially from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds.
- To provide help in response to international emergencies, recognising the responsibility we have as world citizens, and
- To positively impact the environment as we move towards a just transition to Net Zero.
Currently the Womble Bond Dickinson Foundation is focusing on charities making a positive impact under one of more of the following themes:
- Climate action and environmental protection
- Disability and neurodiversity inclusion
- Increasing women’s opportunities in life and work
- LGBTQ+ inclusion
- Mental health and wellbeing support, and
- Supporting inclusion of individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds
