The W O Street Charitable Foundation

Grants, generally for £5,000 or less, are available to UK registered charities working in the areas of education, medical causes and the relief of poverty.

Charities supporting the elderly and people who are blind/vision impaired are favoured.

The Foundation has a preference for funding charities in Lancashire, although this is not to the exclusion of other parts of the UK.  The Foundation also allocates up to 10% of its grant budget to the Jersey Community Foundation.

Grants are made to UK-registered charities and to other UK organisations with charitable status.  The Foundation also provides grants to assist with fee-paying schooling where there is unexpected financial difficulty.

The Trustees support national, regional and local charities, particularly in areas where a grant would make a real difference to the recipients.

The Foundation’s three principal areas of focus are:

  • Education - educational expenses which could not be provided by parents or guardians without hardship.
  • Medical - providing those who could not otherwise afford them with surgical or medical treatment or comforts or facilities for convalescence, and
  • Relief of Poverty - the relief of those who need financial help, including in particular the aged, blind or disabled persons, pensioners and other persons who are compelled to live on a fixed or inadequate income.

The Trustees have reviewed the circumstances of the W O Street Charitable Foundation and consider that adequate resources continue to be available to fund the activities of the Foundation for the foreseeable future.

Please note that the Foundation does not have a website.  Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.

Applications may be made at any time in writing to the Zedra Trust Company (UK) Limited, the appointed administrators for the Foundation.
