One-off grants of between £500 and £10,000 are available for women’s organisations across the UK for projects and activities that raise women's voices and challenge inequality.
ROSA is a UK-wide organisation that supports women's initiatives. Its vision is of equality and justice for women and girls across the UK. The charity aims to raise and distribute money to women's initiatives and influence other to do the same. It funds initiatives in the priority areas of:
- Economic justice.
- Equal representation.
- Health & well-being, and
- Women’s safety.
ROSA's Voices from the Front Line grant programme provides one-off grants of up to £10,000 for activities in the UK that women's organisations undertake in order to raise women's voices and challenge inequality. The primary aims of the scheme are to:
- Amplify the voices of individual women at the Frontline of grassroots work in the UK.
- Support campaigning, advocacy and activists working across any one of Rosa’s four pillars, and/or
- Support work which can, long-term, tackle the underlying causes of challenges women face.
In order to apply, organisations must:
Be non-profitable and run predominantly by, for and with women. Applicants do not have to be a registered charity, but the group’s activities must be charitable, legal and for the benefit of women.
- Have a governing body with at least 3 unrelated members
- Have a UK-based bank or building society account in the organisation’s name with at least two unrelated signatories.
- Have a written governing document; for example, a constitution or set of rules, and
- Have been active for at least one year and can produce annual accounts for a full year.
Applicants that can demonstrate the following are likely to be prioritised:
- Are based in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
- Led by and for Black and minoritized women and girls.
- Led by and for disabled women.
- Led by and for LGBTQ+ women and girls.
- Operating in the top 20% of the most disadvantaged areas in the UK based on the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD). A link to the Indices of Multiple Deprivation mapping resources for England 2019 can be found at this LINK.
One-off grants of between £500 and £10,000, with no matched funding requirement, are available.
Grants can be used for a broad range of activity to raise women's voices and challenge inequality, including:
- Activities and workshops for groups of women, giving them space to identify and understand the injustices they face and to develop the confidence to speak up against them.
- Hosting workshops, events and conferences that educate and influence wider society
- Mentoring or training for women on how to participate in public life and influence social policy, and
- Video and media campaigns about specific issues facing women.

To apply, eligible applicants should:
- Submit the brief online application form available on ROSA’s website.
- Send a video (which should be no more than 3 minutes long) by We Transfer, detailing how ROSA’s funding will be used.
