The Trust awards grants – averaging £3,362 in its last financial year – to UK registered charities that encourage children and young people to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Charities working in the areas of healthcare and disability are also regularly supported.
Previously known as the Racal Charitable Trust, the Thales Charitable Trust is the charitable arm of the Thales Group, a global French technology leader in aerospace, defence, security and digital identity, with major operations in the UK supporting defence, space, and critical infrastructure, known for its deep tech innovation and significant role in national security projects.
The Thales Charitable Trust supports UK charities where its donations create lasting impact, including encouraging young people to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects, inspiring future engineers, supporting armed forces personnel and their families, and aiding community charities that promote well-being. On occasion, its Trustees use their discretion to assist other charities in order that they can respond effectively to diverse and emerging community needs.
Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
