The Society normally awards grants of between £500 and £5,000, together with a few higher awards, to registered charities and organisations with charitable purposes in the Bristol and Greater Bristol area.
Its primary areas of support are

- Education
- Environment
- Social Enterprise
- Healthcare
- Culture and the Arts
- projects that will benefit Greater Bristol and its Economic Development.
Grants can be used for revenue costs and projects, as well as capital appeals.
The next application deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 10 June 2026 for consideration at the Charity's July 2026 meeting. An application form is available on the Society’s website.
