Small Grants Scheme

Revenue grants of up to £5,000 are available to UK registered charities for a wide range of projects that support vulnerable people in areas of high deprivation across the UK.

The Leathersellers’ Foundation’s Small Grants Programme 2025/26 will consider a limited number of applications from charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) registered and operating in the UK.  Please note that it will not consider applications from Community Interest Companies (CICs).

Only 40 applications are accepted during each funding round (dates of further application windows are provided below).  As soon as 40 applications have been received, the application window will close.  As submissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, this is normally shortly after the window opens.

Please note that the online application form only becomes available at 10am on the day the application window opens.  However, applications can be prepared in advance using the offline application form that can be downloaded from the Foundation’s website.

Charities and CIOs must meet the following criteria:

  • Deliver activities to meet an identified need for vulnerable members of the community.
  • Provide evidence of effective impact/ difference made (for example, testimonials gathered from feedback and questionnaires).
  • Have a planned expenditure of under £200,000 during the financial year in which you are applying for funding.
  • Demonstrate financial need. Due to overwhelming demand from charities with high financial need, we are unlikely to be able to prioritise applications from organisations holding more than 6 months’ free/unrestricted reserves.
  • Have a publicly accessible website clearly showing who you are and what you do, and
  • Have a minimum of one year’s published accounts available via the Charity Commission. We do not accept management accounts.

Revenue grants of up to £5,000 are available for UK registered charities that can demonstrate they:

  • Understand the needs of their local community
  • Are open and transparent about their work and finances, and
  • Work in partnership with others.

The next application openings are 10am on:

  • Monday 15 December 2025
  • Monday 12 January 2026
  • Monday 2 February 2026
  • Tuesday 7 April 2026
  • Tuesday 5 May 2026

Applications can be prepared using the offline form in advance of the application window opening.  Applicants that start an online application form and then find that the maximum number of applications has been reached will not be able to access the form again.  The Foundation therefore strongly advises that all applicants work offline in advance off the application window opening and copy answers over to ensure no answers are lost.

Further information, guidance and the offline application form is available on the Foundation’s website.
