A limited number of grants of varying sizes are available to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas for a diverse range of charitable purposes.
The Nancy Bateman Charitable Trust is a Kent-based charity. Its principal activity is the making of grants, providing benefit to UK registered charities.
This is a discretionary grant provider, meaning that it can award grants to a wide range of charitable causes working anywhere in the world (although most grants are made to UK charities working in the UK). Its charitable objectives are to make grants for "such charitable institutions in any part of the world as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit to support or establish".
The Trustees normally make donations to well established charities which have received support the past and which the Trustees consider continue to do valuable work. The Trust’s accounts suggest that it may be in the process of spending out its funds.
Grants made recently have ranged from £2,500 to £1.5 million.
Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
Enquiries about the likelihood of securing grant support can be made at any time in writing or by email.
The Trustees have regular contact during the year to consider recommendations for, and make final decisions on, the awarding of grants.
