The Trust makes small and medium-sized grants to larger national and international charities for a wide range of charitable purposes. Please note that applications are by invitation only.
Following a strategic review, the Constance Travis Charitable Trust have decided to make donations to fewer, larger national and international charities and to considerably reduce the number of charities it has previously supported. The Trust regrets that this means that it is unable to consider new unsolicited applications for the foreseeable future. Although the trustees may make grants with no formal application they may, if considered appropriate, invite organisations to submit a formal application.
The Trust’s strategy for achieving its objectives is for the trustees to meet and assess applications from charities which are likely to contribute to the strategic policy and objectives of the Trust. Each year the trustees support around 45 charities with major grants averaging £50,000 and a further 45 charities with smaller grants averaging £8,000. See their Trustees Report for an idea of the charities they tend to support.
The Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Trust has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
The Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
As the Trust is not currently accepting unsolicited applications, a letter of introduction may therefore be the best way to make an approach in the first instance.
