They invest in people, through Gane grants, to develop their creative talent, foster innovation, and improve the quality of life of those requiring social care, enabling them to progress in their aspirations.
They give first priority to grant applicants living or working in the Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire areas and give secondary priority to grant applicants living or working in the South West and South Wales.
They also work through their Award schemes, in partnership with universities and other organisations, to offer travel opportunities for undergraduates to widen their horizons, build confidence, inspire and develop the applicants artistic and technical skills. This includes Bath Spa University; City of Bath College, University of the West of England and The Society of Designer Craftsmen.
In 2024, the Trust awarded 50 Gane grants, and 7 awards in the Gane Award Scheme, supporting people in the UK across the arts and social welfare.
Trustees meet three times a year in Spring, Summer and early Autumn.
Further information, including an online application form, is available on the Trust’s website.
