Grants, generally for under £10,000, are available registered charities and individuals working in the areas of
- the advancement of health
- amateur sport
- education
- art and culture
- citizenship
- community welfare
- environmental protection and improvement
The aim of the Fort Foundation is to make grants to individuals and charitable institutions throughout England and Wales at the discretion of its trustees.
The principal funding source of The Fort Foundation is donations received from Fort Vale Engineering Limited.
The Foundation also makes awards to individuals, most recently in respect of amateur sport, culture and community.
The trustees have stated that the Foundation maintains sufficient reserves to enable it to continue to make grants for charitable purpose in future periods.
