Chrysalis Trust Grants

A limited number of grants are available to UK registered charities working in the UK - particularly the North-East of England.

The Chrysalis Trust was established in 2009 and makes grants to UK registered charities and other organisations that carry out charitable activities providing public benefit

The Chrysalis Trust prefers to support harder to fund causes, and spreads its funding between local (North East England – the Trust is based in Northumberland), national and international causes, supporting both capital projects and core funding with "one-off' donations.  After a period of closure in 2024, the Trust has opened again to applications in 2025.

The Trust prioritises the following funding areas:

  • The relief of poverty and disability.
  • The provision of access to shelter, education, healthcare and water, and
  • Less popular and hard to fund activities/projects.

Applications are assessed against the following criteria:

  • The ability of the applicant to demonstrate that they provide public benefit.
  • The impact the grant will make.
  • The number of people the grant will benefit and for how long.
  • How any shortfall in funding for the project will be raised, and
  • The time scale for the project

Further information, guidance and an online application form can be found on the Trust’s website.
