The Henry Moore Foundation

The Henry Moore Foundation supports a wide range of activities in the visual arts, particularly where this relates to sculpture, and welcomes grant applications for the support of exhibitions, exhibition catalogues, commissions, conferences, research, publications and the development of collections through acquisitions, conservation, cataloguing and display.

Funding is available under the following categories:

  • Acquisitions and Collections - the maximum grant is £20,000 but most grants are for significantly lower amounts.
  • Conferences, Lectures and Publications - the maximum grant available is £5,000.
  • New Projects and Commissions - the maximum grant is £20,000 but most grants are also for significantly lower amounts, and
  • Research and Development – particularly for
    • (a) Long-term research.  This is for organisations only.  The maximum award is £20,000, although the majority of awards are for significantly lower amounts; and
    • (b) Research and Travel.  This fund is for academics, curators and scholars and offers a maximum award of £2,500.

Applications Deadlines:

  • Winter 2026: applications open at 9am on Sunday 1 February 2026 with a deadline of 11pm on Sunday 1 March 2026 for projects starting, or opening to the public, no sooner than Wednesday 1 July 2026.
  • Spring 2026: applications open at 9am on Friday 1 May 2026 with a deadline of 11pm of Monday 1 June 2026 for projects starting, or opening to the public, no sooner than Thursday 1 October 2026.
