Grants up to £2,500 are available to charities, schools, local authorities, fisheries and angling clubs in England to deliver angling events and activities that will get more people into fishing and retain them within the sport.
The aim of the Angling Trust’s Get Fishing Fund is to support organisations delivering a programme of angling activities throughout 2025. The activities should be designed to enable people to start and continue in the sport of fishing. Applications should therefore increase the number of people being introduced to angling. Please note that any funded activities must be provided on freshwater fisheries where angling requires a fishing licence.
Grants of up to £2,500 are available for:
- Basic equipment storage facilities eg lock up shed.
- Equipment to help run events, this includes any additional equipment to ensure events are safe.
- Event resources, such as a gazebo.
- Fishing equipment and terminal tackle, and
- Promotional materials.
Although matched funding is not essential, applicants that have sought and secured matched funding for their proposal are likely to be prioritised.
Further information, guidance and an online application form can be found on the Angling Trust’s website. The deadline for applications is Friday 30 January 2026 at 5pm.
Please note that registration is required before the application form can be accessed.
