Community Fund
The Foundation makes 25 grants, each of £10,000 annually - the 2026 deadline was in early July.
The grants are available to regional and national charities based and working in the UK with an annual income of under £3 million. Applying charities should be providing support for families experiencing financial disadvantage, people facing sudden hardship or crisis, and vulnerable children and young people.
The cardfactory Foundation has relaunched its Community Fund, moving from 50 grants of £5,000 to 25 unrestricted grants of £10,000 each.
The change reflects a deliberate shift towards fewer but larger awards, with the Foundation citing the ongoing financial pressures facing charities as the reason for increasing individual grant values.
Grants are unrestricted, allowing recipients to direct funding where it is most needed, whether towards frontline delivery or operational costs. The Foundation's goal is 'to address immediate needs while helping communities and individuals build long-term stability and resilience'.
The Fund is open to registered UK charities with an annual income of less than £3 million. The Foundation is particularly keen to support smaller charities where its funding will have a greater impact.
To be eligible, organisations must work within at least one of the following 3 priority areas:
- Providing support to families experiencing financial disadvantage
- Providing support to those facing sudden hardship and crisis, and/or
- Providing support to vulnerable children and young people aged 0-25
The Foundation will award 25 grants, each for £10,000. Applications for amounts other than £10,000 are unlikely to be accepted.
Further information, guidance notes and an online application form is available on the Foundation’s website.
