This competition is designed to engage children and young people aged 7–18 in creative filmmaking, encouraging participation through schools or youth groups, and ensuring projects are guided responsibly under adult supervision while adhering to competition guidelines and conditions.
The theme for this year’s competition is: Smart tech, safe choices – exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.
Childnet is inviting films made by young people that look at the ways that AI can be used to help people, as well as how young people can keep themselves and their peers safe whilst using or encountering AI online.
The deadline for entries is Friday 22 May 2026.
