Bristol City Council launched the Vacant Commercial Property Grant to help reduce the number of empty commercial properties across Bristol's city centre and 46 local high streets.
Grants of between £2,500 and £10,000 are available to charities, Community Interest Companies, arts and cultural groups, small businesses and sole traders. Applicants must have fewer than 50 employees and a turnover of less than £10.2 million.
The core objectives of the scheme are to:
- reduce commercial vacancy rates across the city's designated high streets and in the city centre
- diversify and enhance the commercial offer in these areas
- increase footfall
- create new jobs
- and make Bristol a better place to live for its residents.
Further information, including details of how to apply and a map showing eligible high streets, is available on Bristol City Council’s website.
