Who it's for
This funding is for homeowners and tenants who want to make homes more energy efficient and lower energy bills. Private landlords can also apply on behalf of tenants who are living in properties they own.
To be eligible for the scheme, all of the following must apply to your home or household:
- You're currently on gas, electric, oil, LPG or solid fuel heating.
- The property has an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D, E, F or G.
- You live in the Bristol City, North Somerset or Bath & North East Somerset Council area.
- The property is furnished and occupied.
- You're not living in social housing or temporary accommodation.
- Your annual household income of £36,000 or lower. However, if your home is in one of the lowest two postcode areas on the Indices of Multiple Deprivation list, you do not need to meet the annual household income cap. Check this here
What it's for
You could benefit from upgrades such as:
- cavity wall, underfloor or loft insulation
- new windows and doors
- low carbon heating systems, such as air source heat pumps
- solar PV (photo voltaic) panels and battery storage
- ventilation upgrades
- electric storage heaters
How it works
You will need to fill out a short questionnaire to determine your eligibility for the scheme. If you're eligible, you'll get a free home assessment visit from a trained retrofit assessor, to determine which measures are most suitable.
You cannot choose improvements directly: they are based on the retrofit assessment.
Government grant funding is now available on a first come, first served basis. Due to the high level of interest so far, you may not receive funding until year 2 of the project.
How to apply
Have these details handy, to help you complete the online application form:
- Household income details
- Your home's current EPC rating (if you have one)
- Property type and age
- Details of your heating system
- Window type (single, double or triple glazing)
- Any information you have about problems with damp or mould, or repairs that are needed
