The Batchworth Trust

Grants, generally for £15,000 or less, are available for UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas for general charitable purposes, with a particular focus on funding medical research, support for children and young people, and social welfare.

West Sussex based, the Batchworth Charitable Trust, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary as a grant-making charity in 2025, is a discretionary grant provider, able to fund a wide range of causes both in the UK and overseas.

Awarding grants to smaller charities continues to be a priority for the Trust and in many cases the donations made are to support an innovation or a critical issue.

Although this isn’t exclusively the case, the Trust prefers to award grants to nationally recognised charities.  Support for larger or national charities is predominantly to support either the ongoing work of the organisation or a particular initiative.

Please note that the Trust does not have a website.  Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.

The Trustees meet twice each year to review applications, which may be made in writing.
