The Barbara Ward Children's Foundation

Grants, usually for between £1,000 and £15,000, are available for smaller, non-religious charities which are working to improve the lives of severely disadvantaged children and young people, as well as mentally handicapped adults in the UK and overseas.

The objectives of the Barbara Ward Children’s Foundation are to carry out exclusively charitable purposes anywhere in the world, primarily to benefit children who are seriously or terminally ill, underprivileged, disadvantaged or have special needs.  The Foundation supports smaller, non-religious charities working in the areas of:

  • The promotion of health.
  • The provision of recreational facilities.
  • The relief of poverty, and
  • Any such other charitable purposes for the benefit of the community.

Please note that the Foundation's normal approval procedures may involve making a visit to the prospective beneficiary.

Applications for a grant may be made in writing at any time, detailing the specific purpose for which the grant is requested and accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s latest Annual Report and Accounts.

Further information and guidance is available on the Foundation's website.
