The Bagri Foundation

Grants of up to £150,000 are available for UK not-for-profit organisations that promote the sharing of traditional or contemporary Asian culture.

The Bagri Foundation offers grants to non-profit arts organisations actively engaged in the cultural sector, supporting artistic projects.

While the Foundation’s primary focus is on projects in London, it also supports initiatives across the UK and – by invitation only – for international projects.

Grants, ranging from £5,000 to £150,000, are awarded twice a year.  Please note that organisations looking to apply for more than £75,000 are advised to contact the Foundation in the first instance.

The Foundation supports diverse forms of cultural expression, encompassing both traditional and contemporary mediums, such as:

  • Artisan crafts
  • Exhibitions and Biennials
  • Cross-cultural research projects with public outcomes
  • Music
  • New public commissions
  • Performing arts
  • Literature events and projects.

Projects must fulfil all the requirements below to be eligible for grant support:

  • Be hosted by established organisations with a track record of delivering artistic projects
  • Promote the sharing of traditional or contemporary Asian culture
  • Include established or mid-career level artists from Asia or the diasporas
  • Result in a tangible public outcome, and
  • Align with the Foundation’s Mission Statement.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be:

  • A UK or European registered charity or Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
  • An exempt charity (for example, a national museum)
  • A Community Interest Company (CIC)
  • A not-for-profit organisation, or
  • A creative collective with a proven track record and a public profile.

The Arts and Culture Grant application has a two-stage process.  After a successful expression of interest, selected applicants will receive an invitation to submit a full application.  Applications are managed through Submittable.
