The Association for Roman Archaeology Limited

A limited number of small grants, generally for under £2,000, are available to museums and UK charitable organisations working in the UK and/or overseas to promote the advancement of the education of the public in the history and archaeology of the Roman period.  Individuals may also apply for a grant.

The Association for Roman Archaeology is a Wiltshire based charity that makes a limited number of small grants to UK charitable organisations and individuals in the UK and (occasionally) overseas to:

  • Educate the public in the history and archaeology of the Roman period, and
  • Support research into Roman archaeology in the UK and elsewhere.

The Association makes donations and grants to support the excavation projects, educational events, individual research, museums and publications.  Details of previously grant-funded applicants are provided on the Association’s website.

The Trustees state in the annual accounts that they have a reasonable expectation that there are sufficient resources for the Association to continue to operate for the foreseeable future.

Organisations interested in learning more about the Association’s grant-making should contact its Director, Bryn Walters, by email or ‘phone.  Details are available on their website.
