Access to Mobility Grants

The Access to Mobility grants provide financial help towards mobility support for disabled people, outside of the Motability Scheme.

These are:

Driving Lessons – These grants help Scheme customers who have a provisional driving licence to learn to drive, or offer familiarisation lessons to help grant funded customers get used to adapted driving controls.

Access to Work - The government Access to Work grants fund equipment for disabled people to use at work.  The Motability Access to Work grant reimburses the Social and Domestic Contribution people pay to use the equipment outside of work.

Transitional Support - This grant may be available from the Motability Foundation for customers who leave the Motability Scheme following an unsuccessful DLA to PIP reassessment, where they lose their qualifying benefits and who meet the grant criteria.

Additional Transitional Support - This grant provides additional support to Motability Scheme customers who have to leave the Motability Scheme following an unsuccessful DLA to PIP reassessment, where they lose their qualifying benefits and face extreme financial hardship.
