The purpose of processing

This privacy notice explains how we collect, use, and store your information when you make an online pledge not to idle your vehicle engine.

Data subjects

Data Subjects are individuals who submit a pledge to turn off their engine and encourage others to do so and provide their personal data alongside the pledge.

Personal data

When you make a pledge, we collect the following personal data:
Full name
Email address
Phone number
Postcode

How is it used?

Your data is stored securely on Council systems and will only be accessed by authorised personnel. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

We collect this information to:
Record your pledge and support for the anti-idling campaign
Contact you with updates or information related to the campaign
Understand the geographic distribution of pledges to inform local air quality initiatives

We will not share your personal details with any external recipients.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

We will retain your data for a period of 8 years from the date of your pledge, after which it will be securely deleted.
