Consultation Notice: Proposed Street Tree Felling, Kingston Road

Notice is hereby given that Bath & North East Somerset Council, as the Highways Authority, proposes to fell this street tree, London Plane, which is situated on Kingston Road, Bath BA1 1JQ – tree no. 317002.

The tree is in poor health and declining severely each year due to very poor ground conditions. The tree is unlikely to improve whilst the ground conditions remain as they are. Investigative and repair works are required to resolve the issues below ground level which cannot be implemented without removing the tree. Other options have been considered carefully but unfortunately in order to resolve the below ground issues it is necessary to remove the tree.

A replacement tree will be planted within the conservation area of Bath.

If you wish to respond to this consultation, or find out further information, you can do so by writing or emailing the undersigned quoting the above reference number shown, no later than 14 April 2026.

Responses must state if you are against or in favour of the proposed felling, as well as reasoning to support your response. Please ensure to include your full name and either your home address or email address in order for us to make you aware of our decision following the consultation.

A decision response to this consultation will be published no later than 28 days before the tree is felled. The results of this consultation will remain applicable for a period of 2 years. Notices of this proposal are also posted on the tree in question.
