The Bath in Bloom Competition is open to all residents, businesses, schools, institutions and groups within the boundary of Bath and North-east Somerset.
The Bath in Bloom Committee  encourages all residents, businesses, schools, institutions or groups within the boundary of Bath & North East Somerset to take pride in making their areas attractive with flowers, landscaping or an environmental project. The Competition is organised by the Bath in Bloom Committee, working in partnership with Bath & North East Somerset Council.

How to Enter

Please download and complete the Bath in Bloom competition entry form and indicate the number and name of the category most suited to your display.
Please email entry to or post your entry to:
Gerard Parry, Parks & Green Spaces, BANES Council, Lewis House, 3-4 Manvers Street, Bath, BA1 1JG.

You may also deliver it by hand to any of the Council One Stop Shops in Bath, 3-4 Manvers Street; Riverside in Keynsham, The Civic Centre, Market Walk; Midsomer Norton, The Hollies, High Street, Radstock.

Entries should arrive no later than 5pm on Monday, 29th May 2017. Entries received after the deadline will not be entered.

Judging dates:

School entries will be judged between Monday 26th June and Friday, 30th June 2017 (except those automatically entered into the Winners’ category).
All other categories will be judged between Saturday, 1st July and Sunday, 9th July 2017.
Judges will leave their calling cards for entries visible from the road. If the judge needs to gain access to the garden, they will contact you to do this. The judges’ decisions will be final.
Each entrant may choose one category only from the list on page 2.

For the majority of categories the judges will be marking your entry on the following criteria:
• Impact
• Variety and the use of a range of plants
• Colour Combinations
• Originally and design
• Condition, care and sustainability

Presentation of awards

Award Winners will be invited to a Gala Evening in early September. Results will be announced at the ceremony and published in the press shortly afterwards.
There will be a prize of £25 in vouchers for overall category winners.
£100 for the winner of category 1 – Schools or other groups of young people. £75 and £50 for 2nd and 3rd places respectively. All the prize money for category 1 kindly donated by the University of Bath Gardening Club.

First prize Winners from 2016:

First prize winners from 2016 will go forward to one of our three Winners’ categories. For 2017 these are: Best Group Winner, Best Private Winner and Best Business Winner.
