It's likely that on or around the 25 March, the Consumer Rights Bill will move through Royal Assent and became the Consumer Rights Act.

The Consumer Rights Act replaces 12 existing laws including the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Supply of Goods and Service Act 1982. It also, among other things, outlines a clearer route for consumers who feel a good/service fails to do what it was supposed to; addresses digital content as a separate product category and outlines the rights to repair or replace faulty intangible digital content; and clarifies the periods for repair, replacement and refunds of goods and services.

As you may know, businesses have until 1 October 2015 to implement the new provisions outlined in the Consumer Rights Act.
