Revenue grants averaging £1,000 are available for registered charities in the Bristol area working to support people who are elderly, sick, disabled and/or experiencing financial hardship, former members of the Armed Forces, and the welfare of sick neglected animals.
Bristol-based grant-making Trust, the Basil Brown Charitable Trust generally awards small revenue grants of under £1,000 to registered charities. Although the Trust can make grants to charities across the UK, it has a preference for supporting charities in Bristol and the surrounding area due to its limited resources.
Disability access and access for the elderly have been a particular focus for the Trust over a number of years. Research into treatments for rare inherited sight loss conditions are also a particular interest of trustees.
The charitable objectives of the Trust are:
- To relieve elderly, sick and disabled persons and to preserve and protect the good health of such persons.
- The welfare of sick and neglected animals and the prevention of cruelty to animals.
- The relief of poverty among and to preserve and protect the good health of former members of the Armed Forces in the United Kingdom (and in particular members of the Royal Air Force of whatever rank)
- The relief of poverty and financial hardship.
Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
Applications may be made at any time in writing.
