Cllr Alison Streatfeild-James and Cllr Duncan Hounsell viewing some of the superb new facilities at Saltford Sports Club, were pleased to support the Sports Club aim of increasing female participation in sport and recreation using B&NES ward councillor empowerment funding (£1000).

The Hive Centre, located on Bath Road, Peasedown St John, runs open-access youth work sessions three afternoons per week for children and young people, often in need of a ‘safe space’ to go to after school. Councillor Gavin Heathcote has allocated £500 from his Ward Councillor’s Empowerment Fund to contribute towards food and snacks for those who attend the sessions.

People living in the village of Peasedown St John near Bath were given an opportunity to learn more about dementia thanks to a free information workshop. Councillor Gavin Heathcote has allocated £500 from his Ward Councillor’s Empowerment Fund.

Councillors Kevin Guy and Sarah Warren contributed £897 to Bathford Parish Council and Bathford Church School to provide Kiddie Cut Out Road Safety Parking Buddies to be placed in the immediate area of the School to discourage poor parking during the school runs.
