The Register Office in Bath is proud to offer a range of non-statutory ceremonies which enable people to celebrate important aspects of their lives with their family and friends.

The non-statutory ceremonies are available in any of our ceremony rooms in the Guildhall and at any of our Approved Premises. Alternatively, we can perform a commitment ceremony in a private home or other venue. 

Non Statutory Ceremonies: Naming Ceremony and Commitment Ceremony fees

1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024

A non refundable deposit of £100 is payable when booking. This will be deducted from the fees as stated above.

Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies offer a non-religious alternative to Christenings.

The ceremony is an opportunity to welcome your new arrival into the family and make promises of commitment involving family and friends in a unique celebration.

Commitment Ceremonies

These ceremonies are intended for adult couples, of any gender, who wish to celebrate their commitment to each without entering into a legal marriage or civil partnership. They are ideal for couples who cannot marry for legal reasons or for those who simply do not wish to marry/form a civil partnership.

Commitment ceremonies are non-statutory; in other words, they carry no legal status but provide a wonderful occasion for family and friends to gather together and show support to a committed couple.

Renewal Ceremonies

Renewals of Marriage or Civil Partnership Vows Ceremonies provide a unique platform for couples who wish to restate their commitment to one another.

Maybe you want to celebrate a landmark wedding anniversary with a special ceremony. Or maybe you had a small wedding and now have the time and money to celebrate it again? Whatever the reason we can make your special day even more memorable.

At the Registration Service, we pride ourselves at conducting beautifully personalised ceremonies bespoke to you, as we are Independent Celebrants.

Our highly skilled Registrars and Celebrants conduct over 1100 ceremonies a year and have many years of experience. Unlike other Independent Celebrants we can offer you, your legal ceremony followed by your chosen bespoke independent ceremony. Our friendly, caring team will provide you with the professional and personalised ceremony you are searching for.
