Small revenue grants are available to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas for a wide range of charitable causes. Programmes promoting social gathering and community interaction, and the transfer of knowledge or empathy as mediums for change are preferred, as are adolescent and post-adolescent programmes in England and self-sufficiency projects in the Developing World.
The Cyril and Eve Jumbo Charitable Trust is London-based a discretionary grant-making charity that supports a wide range of charitable causes in the UK and overseas.
Grants are awarded to charities and causes which are known to the trustees or have been recommended to them by colleagues. However, all applications that are submitted to the Trust in writing are regularly considered for grant support.
The Trust tends to direct its grants toward known courses and where outcomes are measurable. Feedback and follow-ups are always requested from grant recipients and, where possible, a visit from the Trust is carried out to assess the outcomes and ensure awards are being used for the intended purpose.
Adolescents and post-adolescent programmes in the UK and self-sufficiency projects in the Developing World are favoured. The Trust seeks to establish a relationship with the charities it supports, developing an ongoing working relationship over a timescale 3-5 years. It gives preference to revenue programmes that:
- Promote social gathering and community interaction, a place to belong and be accepted, and/or
- Use education, transfer of knowledge or empathy as the mediums of change.
Applications may be submitted at any time and are reviewed by trustees on a regular basis.
Applications should be in writing and incorporate full details of the applying charity and the cause for which funding is requested. Further information about the Trust is available on its website.
