People jumping up in the air

Evidence shows that early help is vital to ensuring children and young people have access to the support they need to achieve better outcomes in life. In Bath and North East Somerset the integrated working team exists to support different agencies and partners in working together to bring our ‘Early Help Offer’ to children, young people and families in need of additional services.

There are many different people that can offer help and support to families. At its heart integrated working is about ensuring these people are communicating effectively so as to maximise the potential positive impact interventions can have for those accessing services. Integrated working brings together people from different areas of the workforce in a co-ordinated way and helps to provide a more holistic, wrap around package of support to those that need it, at an early stage when interventions are most important.

Integrated working is part of the government's strategy to improve services for children and young people. As part of this, children and young people have told the government that five outcomes are key to wellbeing in childhood and later life. These are: Being Healthy, Staying Safe, Enjoying and Achieving, Making a Positive Contribution and Achieving Economic Wellbeing.  Integrated Working works to support children and young people in achieving these outcomes.
