Guidance

You need to read and understand the relevant guidance that has been provided by DEFRA to assist you in running your animal business to meet the requirements of the new legislation.  This is available at:

You may not apply for a licence if you have been disqualified, or have had a licence revoked, as per:

Schedule 8 of The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.

Supporting Documentation

As part of your application you must also supply:

  • a vet’s inspection report (to be obtained and paid for by you); and
  • a site plan; and
  • copies of relevant qualifications; and
  • copies of Public Liability Insurance or evidence of insurance.
  • Pet shops must also supply a stock list.
Further Requirements

On receipt of your application we will contact you for payment.  We cannot process your application until we have received the application fee.
