What is the annual household canvass?
Every year we contact all residential properties in Bath and North East Somerset to check who is eligible to register to vote. In September 2023 you will receive a letter from us, with the details of who is registered to vote at your property.
How to respond
Some households will need to respond while others will not. Read the letter carefully to check:
- that all the information is correct
- whether you need to respond
You can respond:
- online using the official household response website
- by calling the helpline on 01225 477333
- by emailing elections@bathnes.gov.uk
- by post
What happens next
By completing the form you are informing us of the names of the people at the property who should be on the register of electors.
If you add someone to your household response, they will be sent an invitation to register form so that they can register to vote. They can also register to vote at the GOV.UK page.
If you delete anyone from your household, their name will be deleted from the electoral register.
Publication of the updated register
An updated register of electors is published on 1 December every year.
