JLAF Meeting Rescheduled

09/03/2018 - The March JLAF Meeting has been rescheduled for 2pm on Monday 26th March 2018 and will be held in the Keynsham Community Space.

 

JLAF Meeting Cancelled

01/03/2018 - The JLAF meeting scheduled for Friday 2 March 2018 has been cancelled due to the severe weather warning and the Met Office's advice for only essential travel in the affected areas.  The meeting will be rescheduled and the new date advertised on these webpages in due course.

Somer Valley Walking Festival

Resignation of JLAF Chair

07/12/2016 - Chris Bloor has resigned as Chair of the JLAF.  The election of the new Chair will take place at the JLAF's next meeting in March 2017.

07/11/2014 - Cllr Douglas Nicol has been appointed as the new Chair of the JLAF and Chris Bloor has been appointed as the new Vice-Chair of the JLAF; both appointments will run until July 2015

Access Land Restriction

31/10/2014 - Natural England have accepted notification of  ’28 day’ discretionary restrictions under Section 22 of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 by the landowner affecting the Access Land at Hawkesbury Knoll and Broad Hillfor.  The restrictions will apply on 31 October, 7, 14 and 24 November, 5, 12, 19 and 30 December 2014 and 9, 16, 26 and 30 January 2015.

 

November 2014 meeting of the JLAF

24/10/2014 - The next JLAF Meeting will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, 7 November 2014 at Bath & North East Somerset Council's Community Room above Keynsham Library; further information can be found on the 'Next Meeting' webpage.

 

David Waterstone CBE

03/10/2014 - It is with great sadness that we must announce that David Waterstone passed away earlier this week.  In 1991, David was awarded a CBE for his work as the Chief Executive of the Welsh Development Agency and he had been the Chair of the JLAF since November 2011.  David has made a signicant and lasting contribution to the public rights of way in Bath and North East Somerset; David built drystone walls as a member of the Cotswold Wardens Volunteers, represented the Ramblers' Association as their local Footpath Secretary and established the Bath Ramblers' Volunteer Team.  David's commitment and hardwork will be gratefuly missed by all those who had the pleasure of working with him.
