A contribution to the annual cost of the lights is made by Keynsham Town Council.  The Council also provides lights on the lamp columns in Moorland Road, Bath as an addition to the contract as well as the Christmas Trees in the Abbey Churchyard, Bath (which is supplied by Fine Pines) and in the Hollies Garden, Midsomer Norton.

Christmas Light Switch-on Ceremonies 2020

Please note that the Council does not organise any Christmas Light Switch-on Events taking place in the district.  However, we will post dates, times and links as soon as the information becomes available.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, formal gatherings are unlikely to take place but some communities will be arranging for an online viewing of their lights.  Further details will be available from the organisers.

Bath and Bath Communities:  Thursday 19th November 2020.  No switch-on event.

Midsomer Norton:  Friday 20th November 2020.  No switch-on event.

Keynsham:  Friday 11th December 2020 - co-ordinated by Keynsham Town Council.  The majority of Keynsham's lights went on without ceremony on 20th November.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Keynsham Town Council are urging those that would normally attend their popular Winter Festival to join them online instead for an evening of live streamed and recorded entertainment.  This will include their Christmas Tree Lights being switched on.  You will be able to view it on their YouTube channel here.

Radstock:  Saturday 28th November 2020 - co-ordinated by Radstock Town Council.  No switch-on event.  The lights will be filmed and broadcast at a later date.

Requests for Additional Christmas Lighting

The Council is happy to give advice to organisations that wish to fund additions to the existing Christmas Lighting displays.  However, please remember to allow plenty of time for such requests - by Autumn, it is often too late to put the necessary infrastructure in place, or order new displays.

Information on the procedures that need to be followed regarding electrical supplies for new Christmas Lighting (including lights on Christmas Trees) can be found by clicking on the link to the right.
