Bath College’s two distinctly different campuses focus on different sectors regionally to suit students and business partner’s needs. The City Centre Campus, home to the Media, Music and Performing Arts courses, allows students to gain work experience within the World Heritage City of Bath and the Care Academy is also based in the city, enabling the College to work closely with B&NES Council, St John’s Foundation, Virgin Care and Curo.

The Somer Valley campus is in the Norton Radstock/Westfield area is best placed for Animal Care courses, as well as arboriculture and horticulture. Linking with the region’s mining history, it is a perfect place for disciplines such as construction and engineering. Bath College also offers excellent opportunities for young people to earn and learn on the job, as they are the largest provider of apprenticeships in Bath & North East Somerset. The College currently offers apprenticeships in a wide variety of vocational and technical areas including, (but not limited to), Accountancy, Business Administration, Catering, Customer Service, Hospitality and a range of Manufacturing Technology, Engineering (Plumbing, Electrotechnical, Refrigeration, Manufacture), Building and Construction. The College also delivers more specialist provision such as, Horticulture, Stonemasonry and Veterinary Nursing.


About the Skills Support for the Unemployed

Our SSU programme is designed to give people the skills to get back into employment, an Apprenticeship or to get you back into education. If you are unemployed, redundant or at risk of redundancy this course is for you. We work with local employers to help them find the staff they need to grow their business & give learners the support to apply for vacancies in the BATHNES area. The FREE course is on offer to anyone 25+, unemployed & eligible to live & work in the UK.

Our tutor & job coach can offer a customer service accredited qualification & prep for work which includes CV writing, cover letters, looking at transferable skills & many other employability skills.

We’ll work with learners to develop a personalised learning plan and provide regular progress reviews to keep them on track. Our dedicated team will support them throughout their learning & a further 3 months into employment ensuring they have the best chance to succeed so offering In Work Support as the course is also about sustainable employment. Help is on offer for travel costs to and from our centre paid through petty cash.

We’re pleased to say we’re now all settled into our new center, located in Cambridge House, 2nd Floor, Room 204, 1 Henry Street, Bath BA1 1JS. The center is a brand new and modern facility, providing learners with a great environment to complete a variety of qualifications & programmes.

Adult Education Skills Course- Bristol

We also offer Adult Skills courses at our offices in the Centre of Bristol (5 minutes from the bus station). These FREE courses are open to anyone aged 19+ ,on some form of benefits and have lived in the UK for 3 years or more. We run such courses as 3 levels of computer skills, Business Administration, Mathematics, Hospitality, Confidence & motivation & other sector based courses. These are all accredited courses with City & Guilds. These courses can also be linked to employers with jobs from the local labour market.
