Bath's  Enterprise Area includes 98Ha of land which follows the line of the river through the city.  It has been recognised as an key zone for growth in the city by the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership which has committed significant investment to help the city's ambitions for the development to be realised. The Enterprise Area will play a key role in providing much needed accommodation for the area's flourishing high-value business sectors.  For further information, the Bath and North East Somerset Economic Strategy shows the Council's aims and objectives for the area upto 2029.

At a stakeholder event on 20 April 2016, the council revealed the latest masterplan images for the first new site in the Enterprise Area, Bath Quays North and South.  The presentation included an overview of development progress and targets and how it will be taken forward. For more information, the presentation from the event is available.

Work with Allies and Morrison to create a more detailed masterplan for Bath Quays has been carried out during 2016 and follows earlier work which created a masterplan for the entire Enterprise Area in 2013.   Bath & North East Somerset Council appointed celebrated Bath based architects, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios FCBS) to lead the preparation of the Masterplan for the Bath City Riverside Enterprise Area.

During the development of the masterplann, the team worked with local stakeholders to develop the overarching themes.

Stakeholder events were held over the course of 2014 in February March and July and a public engagement exercise specifically aimed at finding out priorities for young people aged 18 - 25 was carried out.

The #MyBathMyCity_Meanwhile Spaces film includes information about the project.

The masterplan demonstrates how Bath’s Riverside Enterprise Area can provide a series of new developments to add a new chapter to the story of the city and truly bring the river corridor and its varied attributes to life!
