What is the Public Services Board?

The Public Services Board brings together senior officials from the key local public sector agencies to provide leadership and set the strategic direction for Bath & North East Somerset. It is a non-statutory board and a voluntary partnership arrangement. Any formal decisions required are referred back to each member organisation’s decision making structures.

What does the Public Services Board do?

By working together, the Board is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the area. It maintains a strategic overview of all of our local partnership arrangements and seeks to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the way we work together.

The Public Services Board is committed to championing a strong and courageous vision for the area:

 “Bath and North East Somerset will be internationally renowned as a beautifully inventive and entrepreneurial 21st century place with a strong social purpose and a spirit of wellbeing, where everyone is invited to think big – a ‘connected’ area ready to create an extraordinary legacy for future generations.”

This vision will shape how the Board leads Bath and North East Somerset and delivers its ambition to be a beautifully inventive and entrepreneurial 21st century place.

  • Ashley Ayre, Chief Executive of Bath & North East Somerset Council
  • Ian Smith, Chief Superintendent of Avon and Somerset Police
  • Neil Liddington, Avon Fire & Rescue Service
  • Victor Da Cunha, Chief Executive – Curo Housing Group
  • Tracey Cox / Dr Ian Orpen, NHS B&NES Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Rosie Phillips, Developing Health and Independence (Voluntary and community sector representative)
  • Steven Fuller, The House (Business representative)
