Children and adults in the UK are consuming up to 3x the recommended amount of added sugar leading to serious health conditions such as obesity and diabetes as well as tooth decay.
Know your limits
The recommended maximum daily amount of added sugar is 7.5 teaspoons for adults and between 3 – 6 teaspoons for children.
Could you be our next SUGAR SMART family?
The SUGAR SMART team are looking for two families who live in Radstock, Westfield or Bath in the BA2 area who would like help to reduce their sugar intake, sharing their story and top tips with other residents throughout the journey.
With support and guidance from our Community Dietician and Health Improvement Practitioners from Virgin Care the families, with children under the age of 16 year, will receive weekly support over an 8 week period, as well as the opportunity to take part in cookery sessions.
