Going further

We'd love for businesses, schools and organisations to take the lead where they can. If your organisation would like to get more involved, here are some further ideas:

  • Host/organise events for individuals, businesses or organisations to inpsire change, broaden knowledge of the issue and the solutions
  • Share knowledge/experience of your journey towards becoming plastic free via existing networking groups
  • Identify opportunities to influence the supply chain or bulk purchase products or services?
  • Set up a 'Business to Business' bubblewrap/packaging exchange
  • Set up and manage an online network or message group for sharing ideas and help with problem solving. Such as Slack or Luumio for people pledging
  • Fundraising
  • Art and craft are fantastic ways to engage with issues, either by getting involved in making or exhibiting.
  • Write up case studies of organisations making a positive difference
  • Write blog posts for us to share
  • In your community:
    • Get together with others who are reducing plastic use
    • Screen relevant films
    • Run workshops on ways to live a more plastic free life
    • Promote recycling where you live and identify any barriers there might be
  • Organise a litter pick near your workplace (support is available for this see the Resources tab)
  • Sign up to the Refill water bottle refill scheme and encourage more businesses to sign up as a Refill point
  • Help audit the actions in Autumn 2019 because we want to make sure that we capture all the activity for our application for 'Plastic Free Community' status
  • Create a list for the local area of all of the specialist materials collection points, e.g. Crisp packets, toothpaste & brushes and water filters.

Please get in contact to discuss your ideas so that we can help to join things up locally and discuss how we can promote your activities and ideas.
