Your right to work in the UK will be checked as part of your licence application.  This may include the licensing authority checking your immigration status with the Home
Office.  We may also share information with the Home Office. You must either:

  • Share your immigration status using the Home Office online checking service ‘Prove your right to work to an employer’, or
  • Provide an acceptable document or document combination that is stipulated as being suitable for this check.

If you do not have a Home Office Share Code, you will be required to provide an acceptable document as proof of your right to work in the UK such as:

  • British passport
  • Birth certificate from UK, Channel Isles or Isle of Man plus an official letter or document from a government agency showing your name and National Insurance number.
  • Adoption certificate from UK, Channel Isles or Isle of Man plus an official letter or document from a government agency showing your name and National Insurance number.
  • A certificate of registration or naturalisation as a British citizen plus an official letter or document from a government agency showing your name and National Insurance number.
  • Irish citizens can use their passport or passport card.
  • The full list of acceptable documents can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/right-to-work-checklist/employers-right-to-work-checklist-accessible-version

Due to government regulations each licensee will need to have a face to face meeting with us to confirm that the document is an original.  Currently, due to COVID-19, we are carrying this meeting out via Zoom.
