Photographs and Videos
If you are using an official photographer, they are welcome to take photos throughout the ceremony. There are to be no photos taken of the marriage register as this contains personal details and is protected under GDPR. A blank page of the register will be available after the actual signing of the register for a ‘mock signing of the marriage register shot’. You will be asked if you are happy for your guests to take photos on their phones and if you are happy for them to share to social media. If you wish a member of your party to make a recording of your ceremony, please inform the Registrar so that the operator may be shown the best place to stand.
There is another opportunity for group photographs on the Mayor’s marble staircase prior to your departure from the Guildhall. The Alkmaar Gardens also provides an ideal backdrop for group photographs and is adjacent to the Guildhall on the left as you leave the building. Parade Gardens, which is open during the summer months, is another lovely backdrop for wedding photographs.
