Food Insecurity in B&NES
The B&NES Fair Food Alliance is a broad multi-agency, strategic group that has led work to address food insecurity in B&NES since early 2020 and is chaired by Public Health. The Alliance is an active member of the national Feeding Britain Network and the regional Sustain Food Power network too. A key focus for the work of the Alliance has been to ensure the voice of people affected by this issue is heard, and fully informs the local Food Equity Action Plan. Alliance members have worked closely with University of Bath researchers, Dr Leda Blackwood and Fran Baber, in their qualitative research of the experience of food insecurity in Bath and North East Somerset.
