What is Car Sharing?

Car Sharing is when two or more people travel together in the same car for all or part of their journey. 

Why car share?

  • Share the stress of driving
  • Help reduce congestion

What is 2CarShare.com?

  • 2Carshare.com is a free web-based service to help you find your perfect car sharing match. 
  • It is owned by the four local authorities; Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and is operated by Liftshare.com, the largest national car sharing scheme.   

How does it work?

  • Every time a new person registers their journey with 2CarShare.com their details are added to a database. 
  • These journeys can be anything from a regular commute to work, to a one off event. 
  • As a member you can search this database to find potential matches in your area. 

How do you sign up?

  • Go to 2CarShare.com and click on All New Users
  • If your company is registered then click on the company name under Private Group, if not then click on your local authority area.
  • Then click on the ‘Please Register’ button and follow the instructions
  • After registering click on the ‘Register a journey’ button and follow the instructions
  • Once registration is complete you will receive an email from Liftshare.  Please follow the instructions to confirm your registration
  • Log on to 2CarShare.com with your email address and password and click on the ‘Search matches’ button to see if there are people in your area you can car share with.  When a match if found email or phone the contact to arrange your first meeting. 

Do I need to own a car?

  • No you can register as a passenger, a car driver or for both.
